Background

A major west flowing river, one of Tasmania's largest. Dammed by the Gordon Dam near Strathgordon forming the large Lake Gordon. The upper reaches are not regarded as a great trout fishery due to limited access. Access from the Strathgordon Rd to the upper reaches. The lower reaches are known for the sea run trout fishing which peaks in November. Access to the lower sections is via Macquarie Harbour and boat.
