The Parks and Wildlife Service is pleased to announce that the Lake Augusta Rd will be reopened 9am Thursday 17 November, permitting access through the Central Plateau Conservation Area to Lake Augusta.

A temporary ‘army’ bridge has been installed. It is one lane only and we ask that all users of the area comply with onsite road signage, noting the road (from the cattle grid) is still in poor condition. Lake Augusta Road beyond the dam wall boom gate has sustained some damage with several parts of the road beyond this point still too wet to allow vehicle access.

Tasmania Police have advised that Poatina Main Road is Open with Caution:

Poatina Main Road – Speed limit restricted to 60km/hr for the whole length of the currently closed section – Poatina Creek crossing will be under 24 hour single-lane contraflow.
