This week IFS staff cleared fallen trees and debris from the access tracks at Talbots Lagoon in preparation for the anticipated arrival of dun hatches in the next few weeks.

A large number of trees had fallen across access tracks around the lagoon including the kayak launch area at Boss' Hole, Paradise Plains, Platform Point and Buggs Road.

The IFS is pleased to report that all access tracks are now clear and ready for use.

We would like to thank Forico for protecting the tracks from damage during their recent harvest activities and preserving the native vegetation buffer around the lagoon.

Forico's Orana 3 crew received a community engagement award from the Forest Practices Authority for maintaining access for anglers around the lagoon and scheduling the harvest activities during the closed season. The crew worked collaboratively with the IFA and Forico to ensure a highly positive outcome for all parties.

The water level at Talbots Lagoon is rising and looks primed for outstanding springtime fishing.
