AGFEST - All things fishing

Agfest
Come see us at the Fishing Hub - site 719.

It’s that time of year again…AGFEST and all things fishing!

The Inland Fisheries Service will again be at Agfest, so come along and talk to one of our staff about all things freshwater fishing.

AGFEST is at Carrick from Thursday 1 May to Saturday 3 May, 8am – 4pm.  You'll find us all at site 719, near the corner of Main St and Seventh Ave.

The IFS will be part of the larger NRE Fishing Hub with a wide range of specialists present covering both sea and freshwater fishing.

  • Inland Fisheries Service – What's the latest in freshwater fishing, including the Angler Access Program, Fisheries Performance Assessments and our Fishery Compliance Program?
  • NRE Tas fisheries managers – What are the latest fishing rules, how are fisheries managed and how you can help keep our fisheries sustainable?
  • NRE Tas aquaculture officers – What are the different types of aquaculture in Tasmania and how are they regulated?
  • Tasmanian Police – How are fishing rules enforced?
  • Food safety officers – How do we guarantee the food safety of farmed shellfish?
  • Biosecurity – How can you help keep diseases and invasive species out of our waters?
  • The Fisheries Research Development Corporation – What research is helping to make our fisheries of the future?
  • IMAS scientists – What's the latest in marine research?

We look forward to seeing you!
