Volunteers have provided great support to the River Derwent Anglers Access project and have undertaken sign and stile installation, brush cutting and rubbish collection.

On Wednesday 10th December a dedicated effort was made to clean up a number of sites which have suffered from years of neglect and accumulated rubbish.

Rubbish is frequently identified by landowners as the key reason they are reluctant to provide public access  – and for good reason- the attached photo is the rubbish collected at one location on Boyer Road.

IFS would like to heartily thank Glenn Szalman, Peter Murphy, Andrew Blackwood, Brian Crosswell and Jackson Burns for their willing assistance.

Anglers are reminded that if you witness littering you can report details of the offender (Car registration), time, location and litter deposited to the Environment Protection Agency Litter Hotline on 1300 135 513 or epa.tas.gov.au
