Hydro Tasmania wish to advise of substantial navigation hazards on Brumbys Creek, upstream of the Duck Pond near Fisheries Lane, Cressy.

Extensive clearing of willow from creek channels and surrounding areas was done during winter 2016. Creek channels are not marked and willow stumps will be submerged at moderate to high water levels.

Brumbys Creek is subject to rapid fluctuations in water level due to the operation of Poatina Power Station and during heavy rain. Hydro Tasmania recommends that recreational boaters do not attempt to travel upstream from the Duck Pond area.

Please take care while boating. Wear appropriate personal flotation devices, limit boat speeds and stay more than 100m away from weirs.
