Should you fish the Bradys Chain of lakes….

Well Yes!

We think the Bradys Chain may surprise this season.

Bradys Lake, Lake Binney and Tunagtinah Lagoon make up the Bradys Chain of Lakes.

We have heavily stocked these lakes with adult brown trout for several years now. This year we added another 7 000 fish. These fish came from the River Derwent fish trap at Lake King William.

Half of the fish we tagged with a green tag. The other half had their adipose fin clipped (the small fin on the back of the fish).

Last week we did a survey to examine the trout population in the Bradys lake system. We caught over 300 fish.

Many of the trout were between 400 and 1 200 grams and fin clipped fish made up around 15-20 percent of the catch.

We think it is well worth the effort to open the season by wetting a line in either Bradys Lake, Lake Binney or Tungatinah Lagoon.

A detailed report will be available from the IFS website in the coming months.
