Rainbow trout released into Bradys Lake
In preparation for the new trout season we have been able to stock some lovely rainbow trout, kindly supplied to us by the Huon Aquaculture, into waters around the state.
Huon’s General Manager, David Mitchell said that for many years, Huon had grown thousands of rainbow trout specifically for the IFS stocking program.
“The fish are grown at our Millybrook Hatchery near Mathinna in the State’s North East and then released into lakes and waterways around the state. Bradys Lake has been a major beneficiary with more than 5,000 rainbows released this year, half of which weighed between 1.3 and 3 kilo". Check out the video of the release.
With the recent release the Bradys Chain will be popular this weekend and for the coming season.
