Clean Up Australia Day

IFS Director John Diggle on CUA Day

The Inland Fisheries Service took part in Clean Up Australia Corporate Clean Up Day. IFS Staff focussed effort on the River Derwent and the Central Highlands. A full load of rubbish was collected from the banks of the River Derwent between New Norfolk and Gretna. The rubbish included a toilet pan, pram, car parts, tyres, furniture and assorted domestic and take away containers. IFS staff have noticed an increase in illegal dumping since the introduction of the waste levy on bulky items.
