A new 9 km track around the perimeter of Four Springs Lake (including duck boarding and a footbridge) has been completed in time for the opening of the brown trout season.

The walking track project involved a land transfer agreement between the Inland Fisheries Service (IFS) and Tasmania’s largest private forest management company, Forico, and will greatly improve foot access to the western and northern shores of the lake.

This land transfer and subsequent development would not have been possible without the support and cooperation of Forico.

Four Springs Reserve is now managed under licence by the IFS.

Other recent upgrades at Four Springs Lake include an extension to the car park with the addition of new fencing and gates installed to help ensure security for neighbouring properties and providing access to water for firefighting.

The angling jetty on the western shore has also received an upgrade.

These improvements have enhanced the existing facilities at Four Springs Lake that include a boat ramp and jetty, accessible angling platform, kayak launch and public toilet.
