The blue-green algae bloom is non-toxic and you can catch and eat fish from Woods Lake. Fish should be washed in clean water, gilled, gutted and all internal organs disposed of – fish waste should not be fed to animals.

Don’t drink the water and avoid direct contact with the water or algae – we recommend washing and drying all clothing and equipment that you use at this site.

Hydro Tasmania continues to regularly monitor conditions and will issue an update if this situation changes.
