In 2022, Hydro Tasmania shared some news about a project they were planning at Edgar Dam in South West Tasmania.

Please be aware that during the works, Edgar Dam camp ground and the adjacent boat ramp will be closed due to the need for Hydro Tasmania to safely store large machinery and accommodate staff. At this stage, Hydro Tasmania anticipate reopening both in mid-2026.

There will also be increased heavy vehicle traffic along Scotts Peak Road and users travelling through to Scotts Peak Dam may experience short delays as they travel through the work site.
