Sunday 13 October is National Gone Fishing Day so why not grab a friend and go trout fishing?

Gone Fishing Day is an angling licence free day which means an angling licence will not be required for anyone wanting to fish inland waters in Tasmania on this day!

Plus - with a range of junior angling events happening across Tasmania, Gone Fishing Day is a great opportunity for those 17 years of age and under to catch a trout. 

This year’s theme is “Fish for Balance – Get Back to Nature”, highlighting the important role that fishing plays in the lives of Australians across the country. From fostering good social connections, allowing us time for relaxation and restoration, and connecting us back to the natural world, fishing is a fulfilling and enriching experience that enhances our well-being and deepens our appreciation for the environment.

There are a number of angling events, run by local club volunteers, being held on Sunday 13 October, as part of Gone Fishing Day.
