A Prohibited Area for navigation has been declared for Lake Rosebery by Marine and Safety Tasmania

Marine and Safety Tasmania has advised that due to oil spill recovery works, a Prohibited Area has been declared for Lake Rosebery at Tullah.

The prohibited area encompasses all waters of the Lake and will be in force from 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 15 January 2025, to 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 22 January 2025, unless cancelled sooner.

Vessels must not navigate within the prohibited area unless approval has been granted by the Environment Protection Authority (EPA).

Regulation 71 of the Marine and Safety (Pilotage and Navigation) Regulations 2017 provides for the declaration of a specified area to be a prohibited area for other vessels or persons. A police officer may intercept and remove to a place of safety, any vessel or person in a prohibited area.
